Get to know this service
Derbyshire LGBT+ works to improve the health and wellbeing of people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It provides support and information on these issues, along with health promotion and health education services for LGBTQIA+ people.
The organisation describes itself as Derbyshire's only LGBTQIA+ specific support service, supporting anyone who is lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, or facing issues with their sexual orientation or gender identity. This support also extends to family and friends.
Services include a supportive listening service run by trained individuals, offering confidential space to talk. Regular social groups take place across Derbyshire, alongside a youth group that is not advertised publicly for safety reasons.
Derbyshire LGBT+ also offers training and consultancy, including LGBTQIA+ awareness sessions and policy reviews for businesses and organisations. It runs a 'Rainbow Accreditation' scheme to help organisations develop inclusive practices for LGBTQIA+ staff and service users.
About
