Get to know this service
The Alphabet Collective is a queer-founded and led peer support group for LGBTQIA+ people aged 18-25 in the Leeds area. It aims to engage LGBTQIA+ people in affirming experiences that celebrate and explore intersectional identity through peer support, open discussion, empowerment and collaboration.
It runs a weekly social group offering a safe space for LGBTQIA+ young people to meet others and take part in activities facilitated by youth and community workers and volunteers. Sessions may include creative writing workshops, queer history tours, and self-confidence and wellbeing workshops.
The group also takes attendees on trips, such as Pride events, ComicCon, cinema trips, bowling, theatre, history tours and meals out. It offers one-to-one support sessions, usually around one hour, by phone, video call or in person in Leeds, for up to eight sessions depending on individual need.
