Get to know this service
The Food Chain ensures people living with HIV in London can access the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and lead healthy, independent lives. Support is delivered mainly by volunteers, backed by a small staff team.
Services include home-delivered meals, grocery hampers, cookery and nutrition classes, and communal eating opportunities. Each person referred receives a Personalised Nutrition Care Plan designed by a dietitian to meet their needs.
People must be referred by a health professional or another support organisation to access these services. The charity also provides formula milk for parents living with HIV in England who choose to formula feed.
The Food Chain was set up by friends of people living with HIV, inspired by American organisations, and delivered its first meal on Christmas Day 1988.
About
The Food Chain is the UK's only HIV specialist nutrition charity, supporting people living with HIV in London and their dependents.
