Get to know this service
Breakout Youth offers a confidential support service for young people aged 11 to 25 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or unsure of their sexuality or gender identity. It runs youth groups based in Southampton, Basingstoke, Andover, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight.
Support includes one-to-one support, counselling, and access to free condoms, lube, Chlamydia screens, pregnancy testing and advice from qualified sexual health workers. The organisation also offers bespoke training for professionals on sexuality, homophobia, gender and transphobia, run for groups, assemblies or individuals.
Breakout Youth was set up in Southampton in 1993 as a full-time project run by Southampton City Council. It became a charity in its own right in May 2012, after No Limits hosted the service from 2011.
