Get to know this service
Galop works to make life safe, just and fair for LGBTQIA+ people. It gives advice and support to people who have experienced biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence and domestic abuse.
The organisation runs a national helpline for LGBTQIA+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence, and has done so for more than 40 years. It also launched the UK's first dedicated helpline for LGBTQIA+ victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
Galop hosts online support groups for LGBTQIA+ adults in Wales who have experienced abuse, delivered as a 12-week structured programme by trained LGBTQIA+ facilitators. It has also launched a certificate course to help professionals improve sexual violence support for LGBTQIA+ people.
Galop's research found that over half of LGBTQIA+ people in the UK have experienced sexual violence, and it works to improve how communities can get help.
About
Galop is the UK's LGBTQIA+ anti-abuse charity, supporting LGBTQIA+ people affected by abuse and violence through a national helpline.
