Get to know this service

Manchester Proud Chorus exists to give people in Greater Manchester who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or another minority sexual or gender identity the chance to make music together. It holds rehearsals every Monday and welcomes new members, though it notes it is currently closed to new members until January 2027.

The choir focuses on equality, diversity and inclusion, aiming to reflect the full range of identities, cultures and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. It welcomes people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions, and is especially keen to hear from people from ethnic, religious and cultural minority backgrounds.

The choir takes part in Pride events, including marching in the Manchester Pride Parade and performing at the Manchester Pride Candlelit Vigil, which honours those affected by HIV. It also performs at Didsbury Pride, an annual free festival celebrating diversity and inclusivity.

About

Manchester Proud Chorus is an inclusive LGBTQIA+ community choir in Greater Manchester, giving people a safe space to sing together.
