The charity runs legal workshops with lawyers to help members understand asylum law and ask questions about their cases, open only to members. It also hosts regular meet-ups and creative social events, including a weekly gathering for LGBTQIA+ refugees and asylum seekers in London.

OPAL produces podcast episodes inviting African LGBTQIA+ and Global Majority people to share personal stories on topics such as education, wellbeing, employment and relationships, shown on its YouTube channel.
