Get to know this service
The National HIV Story Trust preserves the history of those affected by the AIDS pandemic, particularly from the 1980s and 90s. Its work includes creating a public archive, educational outreach and using what it has learned to understand the challenges people living with HIV face in later life.
The organisation has filmed over 120 interviews telling the story of the HIV and AIDS pandemic. This collection was donated to the London Metropolitan Archive, where it is publicly available and continues to grow as more people share their stories.
The trust also works with creative organisations, including producing a book and an audiobook, to help ensure the history of HIV and AIDS is never forgotten. It offers education sessions delivered by its speakers to interested groups.
About
The National HIV Story Trust films, records and preserves the history of people affected by the AIDS pandemic, mainly from the 1980s and 90s.
