Reading Pride is a charity promoting equality and diversity for LGBTQIA+ people, mainly in Reading and the Thames Valley. It stages an annual free parade and festival, and gives grants to other charitable and voluntary organisations.
The parade sets off from Reading Station and ends at King's Meadow, where the festival opens with entertainment across several stages. The event includes a funfair, a family area, and food, drink and market stalls.
Reading Pride runs entirely on volunteers and relies on donations and ticket sales, such as the Pride Plus enclosure, rather than government funding. It also runs MyUmbrella LGBTQIA+, a volunteer-led project raising awareness of lesser-known identities.
